Connect AI Assistants
Your published website can talk to AI assistants directly. Once you switch it on, anyone using Claude — including Claude Cowork and the desktop app — or ChatGPT can connect to your business and ask it real questions: what you sell, what it costs, when you're open, how to book you. Quote requests land in your CRM as leads, like any other inquiry.
Nothing here requires code.
Turn it on
- In your dashboard, go to Site Builder → SEO + AI discoverability
- Toggle MCP App on
- Copy the Connector URL shown (it uses your verified domain)
The connector only answers on a verified custom domain. If you haven't connected your domain yet, do that first under Site Builder → Domains.
Add it to Claude
In Cowork or claude.ai: open Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, and paste your Connector URL.
In the Claude desktop app: the dashboard shows a ready-made config
snippet next to the URL — copy it into claude_desktop_config.json.
In ChatGPT: open Settings → Connectors (turn on developer mode if you don't see it), choose Add connector, and paste the same URL.
Gemini: the consumer Gemini app doesn't take custom connectors yet — but Google's answer surfaces already read your site through normal search, and developers using Gemini CLI or Code Assist can add the same URL (see the developer MCP docs). When Google opens connectors to the Gemini app, the same URL will be what you paste.
That's it. Ask Claude something like "What services does my company offer, and what do they cost?" to see it work.
What Claude can do
Out of the box (read-only):
- Business info — name, address, hours, contact details
- Catalog — services and products, with prices, searchable
- Booking — hands people your public scheduling link
- Quote requests — files an inquiry into your CRM as a lead
Editing tools — like updating your company profile — exist but are off by default. You enable each one individually in the same settings panel, so Claude can never change anything you didn't explicitly allow.
Let an assistant work INSIDE your business
The connector above is public — the assistant sees what any site visitor
sees. There's also a private org connector for your own use: add
https://www.businessdash.us/api/mcp/org as a custom connector and Claude or
ChatGPT will walk you through signing in and approving access. Approved
assistants can read your site traffic, your AI-crawler visibility, and your
AI-distribution list — and only get editing ability if you flip that switch
on the approval screen. You can revoke the connection any time.
Why this matters
When a customer asks their AI assistant "find me a solar installer near Sacramento and get me a quote," the businesses that can answer are the ones the assistant can actually talk to. This makes yours one of them — and it pairs with AI Visibility, which shows you which AI systems are already reading your site — including xAI's Grok crawler, which has no connector program yet but does read the open web.
